You don’t have to own a boat to enjoy the benefits of membership at a Motor Yacht Club on the Thames. Thames Motor Yacht Club at Hampton Court is one of the best boating clubs on the River Thames, situated amongst picturesque grounds with its own club-house, riverside bar and moorings
As Insurance Brokers to the TMYC, Cheers’ were fortunate to spend a very enjoyable day at the club as guests at the annual Sailpast. After a breakfast of smoked salmon and scrambled egg we cruised up the Thames to Kingston Bridge and back whilst leading the flotilla of Club member’s Motor Cruisers. This was followed by a very warm welcome over lunch at the club house and a chance to meet the members both social and active boat owners, of which there were many generations from grandparents to young grandchildren.
New members are able to join whether or not they own a boat and can call upon a vast experience within the Club and all aspects of boat handling, cruising, and boating enjoyment. For those new to boating, take advantage of an experienced "buddy boat" for peace of mind.
