Bringing you very cost effective yacht insurance for your UK sailing.
Although we provide £3m liability cover, at least £2m liability cover is recommended by the British Marine Federation if you are to sail in the UK and to cover you if you were to cause damage to property or injury to another person with your yacht. Indeed marine liability insurance is a lawful requirement for sailing on the inland waterways and to acquire an annual boat license. It’s wise to have comprehensive marine insurance to provide cover for your yacht against accidental damage, theft, fire and vandalism.
You won’t usually need to have a survey on a small yacht unless the boat is over 40 years old and typically once the boat is on cover there is no further need for a survey.
If you need to make a claim on your small boat insurance or yacht insurance you should contact us in the first instance as soon as possible. We’ll help you complete a claim form and remember that any incidences of theft or criminal damage should be reported to the police – don’t forget that you'll need the crime reference number for the claim form.
You’ll be required to provide at least one estimate for the repairs or a written quote for the replacement items if a repair is not possible.
Your small yacht insurance including the tender, outboard and other personal effects will be covered for accidental damage, theft, fire and vandalism on an All Risks policy wording. Cover will include damage to the yacht whilst in transit, but excluding third party liability in transit as this should be covered by your vehicle's policy.
A Yacht Insurance policy provides 12 months cover whilst afloat or laid up ashore and includes cover for sails, covers and damage by vermin.
